Sitting high above Los Angeles, overlooking the legendary Laurel Canyon with all of its musical history, TreePeople’s S. Mark Taper Foundation Amphitheatre might just be the best kept secret in all of Southern California. For over 25 years, it’s been home to some of the most exciting performances the city has to offer and this year’s season was no exception! From the sonic grandeur of some of the most forward thinking names in jazz to the classic swing of roots and country music and everything in between, TreePeople’s 2024 season was one of our best years yet!
Our TreePeople Presents programming this year saw us working with local favorites such as Nicole McCabe and her fabulous quartet and country cavaliers Emily Rose and the Rounders to nationally touring artists such as MALIA–who joined us for a stop between club dates, Carlos Niño and Surya Botofasina–who took time from sharing the stage with Andre 3000 this summer, and Dave Harrington–whose Darkside project headlined festivals all over the world this year. For the first time we also kicked off a series of movies in the park featuring favorites like Clueless and Fern Gully.
That’s not all! TreePeople’s S. Mark Taper Foundation Amphitheatre has always been a bastion of stand-up comedy and we kept the tradition alive with Comedy For The Trees, a special night with some of our favorite comedians. This year we were joined by Andrea Jin, James Davis, Brandon Wardell, Whitmer Thomas, Naomi Ekperigin, and Andrew Michaan. Keep an eye out as we look forward to even more special events in 2025!
Together we raised tens of thousands of dollars to help further TreePeople’s mission to expand green spaces in our cities, restore and protect crucial wildlands in our mountains, and to inspire the next generation of environmental leaders. Thank you to all of the artists who joined us this year and to every person who came to one of our TreePeople Presents events. Your support makes all that we do possible.
