There is something truly special about sitting among the oaks, surrounded by like-minded people who care deeply about our shared environment. Recently, on a Sunday evening in our amphitheatre, folks gathered for a very special screening of Groundswell. Recently honored with the Golden Globes Prize for Documentary at the Cannes Film Festival, the new documentary takes viewers around the world, offering a global perspective on the three biggest (and interrelated) problems we are currently facing: climate change, species loss, and soil loss.
As the sun fell across our forested campus, fellow changemakers followed along a cinematic journey that highlights the people, ideas, and movements transforming communities from the ground up. They also listened to a live insightful and intimate conversation with the film’s director, Rebecca Tickell, and producers, Laurie and Bill Benenson, moderated by our Fielding Family CEO, Dr. Cassie Rauser.

Watching the story of regeneration on screen was powerful. Viewers learned about the many methods in which regeneration is confronting and reversing environmental degradation on an ecosystem-by-ecosystem basis, all while storing enough carbon in the ground to help mitigate our changing climate.
Viewers also had a chance to turn their inspiration from the film into immediate action during our live giving moment.

Incredible generosity made that Sunday night so special. Every conversation shared and connection made reminds us that a greener Los Angeles is one we create together.
Thank you to everyone who joined us at the film screening, we hope to see you at our park again very soon. Please see our Events page for more!
