Last month, we blogged about our partnership with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) to create the first-ever Stormwater Capture Master Plan and the public meeting we co-hosted to get input on the plan from Angelinos.
We hope many of you were able to attend the meeting, but, for those of you who couldn’t, there’s still time to share your ideas for how and where we can capture more rainwater.
The LADWP understands that incorporating public opinion into our stormwater capture projects is crucial to the plan’s success. We’re thrilled that the LADWP has been so receptive to creating a Stormwater Capture Master Plan that will do more to use stormwater as a resource to meet our city’s water needs. This way we won’t need to be so heavily reliant on importing water from distant sources – sources that are also under threat. This plan can help us achieve a more sustainable, safe and resilient water supply for our city.
Sounds pretty good, right?
We want to hear from you! Please fill out the project suggestion form here and submit it to Rafael.Villegas@ladwp.com by April 16, 2014. And, if you’d like to view the presentation from the public meeting last month, check out the video online here.
