
Ruth Goldway
Chair of the U.S. Postal Regulatory Commission (Retired)
Ruth Goldway, retired Chairman of the United States Postal Regulatory Commission, is an advocate for consumer, women’s and urban issues. She has also served as Assistant to the Director of California’s Department of Consumer Affairs and mayor of the city of Santa Monica. She is responsible for the implementation of The Forever stamp, helped to found California’s system of statewide farmers markets, and expanded citizen representation on state regulatory boards. She was Founder and Chairperson of the Santa Monica Pier Restoration Corporation. Ms. Goldway has served as Director of Public Affairs at California State University, Los Angeles, and Manager of Public Affairs for the Getty Trust.
Born in New York City, Ms. Goldway attended the Bronx High School of Science, and a graduate of the University of Michigan, she is active in The Women’s Political Committee of L.A. and volunteers for the Venice Community Housing Corp. Her recreational activities include biking, cooking, reading, and travel. Her family resides in Venice, California.
