Founder, UCLA Fielding School of Public Health Center for Healthy Climate Solutions

Jonathan Fielding, MD, MPH is a Distinguished Professor of Health Policy and Management and of Pediatrics in the Schools of Public Health and Medicine at UCLA. An expert in public health preparedness and communications. Dr. Fielding served for 16 years as Public Health Director and Health Officer for Los Angeles County. In this capacity, he was responsible for the county’s response to numerous public health threats. Dr. Fielding’s current focus is on climate change. He is the founder and one of the co-directors of UCLA Center for Healthy Climate Solutions, which focuses on protecting human health from the harmful effects of climate change. The Center is currently conducting important research on air quality issues related to the 2025 urban fires in the Los Angeles area.
