TreePeople Joins the Air + Style Music and Sports Festival
Earlier this year, TreePeople teamed up with two-time snowboarding Olympic gold-medalist, Shaun White, his team at Air + Style, along with partners at Change the Course and Clif Green Notes for the Air + Style Music and Sports Festival in Exposition Park. Air + Style’s design doesn’t just attract top musicians and athletes, but also incorporates local art, community and culture.
“Getting big air requires big snow and snow needs water.” – Shaun White
We had a blast rocking out with the crowd! Over two days, we handed out materials and ran a “selfie” station and also engaged people to help restore 1,000 gallons of water to a California ecosystem in need. Festival attendees who visited our booth took a #BigAirBigWater selfie pledge for a chance to volunteer with Shaun White and TreePeople at an environmental day of action.
Air + Style Pays a Visit to Coldwater Canyon Park
After the event, pledge winners, the Air + Style dream team and Shaun White joined us for a Park Work Day. The group helped our team with trail maintenance and to prep our Eco-tour “Dr. Dirt” station for our young visitors. Each year, 10,000 kids visit our park for field trips where they learn about nature’s cycles and how to care for the environment. Gloves and pitchforks in hand, we all set out to give our trails a little T.L.C.
We can’t say enough how much we appreciated all the hard work of our volunteers– and also to Shaun for leading the pack with the same dedication as when he hits the slopes.
