Volunteer with Us When you volunteer to help plant trees and plants with us, you’re not just helping to green our neighborhoods and wildlands—you’re gaining so much in return, from knowledge of our local ecosystems to a deep sense of community. Join us in the beautiful Angeles National Forest, where we are working to restore burn scars and make our wildlands more resilient in our changing climate. We also have volunteer opportunities in our own backyards, planting trees and providing that life-changing shade. Our volunteer calendar is consistently updated. Bring the family, get your hands dirty (we provide gloves), and help us transform SoCal today. Sign up today |

Living Schoolyards Study Did you know Los Angeles loses more than 100 billion gallons of rain every year? Yeah – according to the County Safe Clean Water Program, enough stormwater to support 2.5 million Angelenos runs down the drain and into the ocean annually. TreePeople’s Research team thinks it’s time to flip that script. Our newest report uncovers the Untapped Potential of schoolyards – those everyday spaces that can become powerful hubs for stormwater capture. We explore how integrating stormwater infrastructure into green schoolyard designs can reduce runoff, boost local water supply, improve water quality and create cooler, healthier community schools. If you’re curious about how schoolyards can help solve LA’s water challenges, this is a must-read. Dive into the report to see what’s possible. Learn more |
