Join Us This Friday For May’s Moonlight Hike

Moonlight Hikes have been a TreePeople tradition for more than 40 years — and honestly, they might be the most magical night you can have in Los Angeles without leaving the city. What started near the beginning of TreePeople as simple “Full Moon Hikes” has evolved into a one-of-a-kind mix of live music curated by Living Earth, nighttime adventure, and environmental education. A place where people gather under the stars for everything from ambient synth performances to indie rock sets before hiking into the canyon by moonlight.

Moonlight Hikes take place on the fourth Friday of each month. The music starts at 7pm, and the hikes begin at 8pm.

Guided by TreePeople’s Eco-Educators, hikers make their way through Coldwater Canyon Park learning about local wildlife, native plants, and the secret nighttime life of the mountains. There are options for all skill levels—choose between the mellow, family-friendly “Coyote Crawl” or hikes that might actually have you scrambling on all fours. Equal parts concert, date night, community gathering, and wilderness escape, Moonlight Hikes are proof that LA still knows how to get a little wild.
